A Note
Updated June 7, 2026
She did not seek to be remembered. She sought, every single day, to be useful - to her students, her family, her neighbors. She taught music to thousands of children over forty years and called nearly all of them by name when they grew up and waved to her at the supermarket.
She made everyone she met feel slightly more interesting than they were. She read every book in the local library at least twice. She believed quietly that the world is heavy enough, and that we should each try to make it a little lighter, when we can.
She passed quietly in the late morning, without fuss, as she had lived.
